At JA of Lincoln, it’s always our goal to make sure every local educator that requests the JA experience in their classroom gets that request fulfilled-- and that takes a lot of community volunteers! We’re so grateful to all the educators who invite us into their classrooms, and we never want to have to turn anyone away. With JA classes being taught in every Lincoln Public School and almost every parochial school, keeping up with the demand is a big job. All of our amazing community volunteers have a common vision: sharing a message of hope and opportunity with each and every young person they reach.
Here’s the wonderful part-- time after time, we hear from our volunteers that they find themselves learning from the kids even more than they teach. You work with the teacher to arrange the schedule that works for you both (usually, either one hour a week for five weeks or one hour a day for five consecutive days). Then we give you everything you need-- curriculum and materials for one of JA's proven financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs.
