Stock Market Challenge Going Virtual

The 2021 JA of Lincoln Stock Market Challenge is going virtual!

Of course we’d love to be able to gather in person, but the bright side of holding the event virtually is that more students than ever before will be able to participate. ALL Nebraska high school students are invited, at no cost to the students or the schools!

This year’s Stock Market Challenge will be on Tuesday, April 20, and students will experience all the same strategizing, fun, and excitement that accompanies an in-person event. The simulation will follow news events as they impact the market, challenging students to work together and determine if they want to buy, sell, or trade. Emcees will keep the students and teachers engaged throughout and special celebrity guests will be 'dropping in' to cheer on the teams!

The stocks students are buying and selling may not be real, but the scholarship money they’re competing for is! The members of the top two teams with the highest portfolio will each receive $500 scholarships to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The top three teams will also be eligible to compete in the National JA Stock Market Challenge Competition in May.

We’re still looking for sponsors to get involved in helping this unique event succeed! With this year’s Challenge being open to ALL Nebraska high school students, we're preparing to have more teams than ever before. Since we don’t charge the students or schools, that means we also need more support than ever before! For $300, you make this opportunity available to the school of your choice. Students will receive a team packet with your company's name, your company will be listed in the virtual program, and you'll receive photos and thank you postcards from your sponsored team.

A big thank you to those generous companies that have already jumped on board!
