Now is the Perfect Time to Volunteer

Let’s talk JA classroom volunteers! If you’ve ever been a JA classroom volunteer or have ever considered volunteering, we’re looking for you.

Volunteering in the 2020-2021 school year

School looks different in a lot of ways this year, but JA of Lincoln classroom volunteers are just as needed as ever! In fact, we’re hearing from teachers that the dose of normalcy provided by the JA classroom experience is especially welcome during this challenging school year.

From the volunteer perspective, delivering the JA curriculum to a classroom has never been more convenient. You can impact a classroom of students via Zoom from the comfort of your office or home, on a schedule that works best for you. Provided with detailed lesson plans and talking points, you can share your job and life experiences with students that will help them be ready to successfully take on their finances, prepare for their first job, and have an appreciation for entrepreneurship.

The time commitment is minimal (just three 15-minute lessons!), and all training resources are provided. Ready to make a difference in local classrooms without ever leaving home? Learn more and sign up online at bit.ly/JALNKEngage

Past JA volunteers- we want to share your stories!

While we’re talking volunteering, we also want to talk to those of you who have been a JA classroom volunteer in the past. Do you remember the nerves you felt before volunteering for the first time? Or seeing the light bulbs go off for your students? How about the thank you letters from your students after your Junior Achievement lessons are complete? Junior Achievement volunteers make a big impact on students' lives, and we want to share your amazing stories.

Please send us a short video or written testimonial of:

  • Your favorite Junior Achievement memory
  • An unforgettable experience from your Junior Achievement class
  • The reason you choose to give your time to Junior Achievement
  • Your experience as a virtual volunteer this year

Shoot a short 15 second-1 minute video on your phone or write a short testimonial and submit it using this form by January 29th. All volunteers who submit videos will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift card to Venue | Piedmont Bistro! We will feature some of the videos on social media and in other promotional materials.
