Congratulations to 5th grade Humann Elementary School student, Darryl Ross Jr, on being selected as one of our Junior Achievement 50th Anniversary K-12 Student Essay Contest elementary winners! Darryl will receive a $100 cash prize. One of our favorite things from his essay was how he talked about the changes Lincoln will have, but one thing that won’t change is “how strong our community is!”.

-----------------------------------------------

What will Lincoln be like in the future? Lets go fifty years into the future.

Some researches say that in the future they'll have less cars that run on gas and more that run on electricity. This will help the earth out a bunch.

The oceans will be clear and clean from the dangerous things that flow in it today.

One thing that's going to change is communities and the tings we build them with. Such as wood and stone. More and more buildings are being build today. Another thing that goes hand in hand with this is business and money. Why do I say this? Because when they are less supplies the cost of it is going to be higher. People are going to need more, so they all buy it from the people that have them.

Is the water going to change? No one really knows yet, because resources are still searching about it.

Now you know that the world is not always going to stay the same, but one thing that is never going to change is friendship. The lesson of the this story is to live long and dream big dream for the rest of your life.

As you can see, Lincoln is going to change over time. But what Lincoln is known for is not. Some people don't know that Lincoln is changing now. So be greatful for the things that you have today and wish for the things you will have tomorrow. Even though Lincoln will eventually change it won't change how strong our community is!
