Dan’s Junior Achievement story in his own words, in 2017:
“45 years ago, I was the plant manager of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. I was asked by my boss to bring Junior Achievement to Lincoln. We fought hard the first few years to get it off the ground and with a lot of hard work by Ken Carlson, JA president for 35 years. We built a solid board of directors and secured enough funding by generous Lincoln businesses to keep the program running. Goodyear provided 100% of the facility and utility costs for those first 35 years - a gift that played a huge factor in our growth and success through those years. I’m most proud of what we have brought to the city of Lincoln through JA’s programs and that we are now impacting 30,000 students annually.”
